... from the age of 12 till I was 19.
Somewhere in my middle teens I had a pair of shinpads that my mom got ahold of one day and drew on. I'm really not sure what she was thinking, but you can bet she knew that having shinpads with XO Love, Mom on them wasn't a step on the road to coolness and admiration by my teammates.
