art girl
Sam's a bit compulsive with the painting/drawing, but the results are interesting.
The bottom of her dresser drawer fell out. David or I would have nailed it back in. Sam got out her paints, Sharpie pen, and whiteout, and did this instead:
Russian Lady (pencil shavings and water):
Another Victorian Lady (in pencil on the kitchen counter):
Oh, hey, finally something done in a normal medium! Belly Dancers (pen & ink on paper):

mamacita: not the bottom drawer, the bottom OF THE drawer. it's a light pop-together IKEA dresser -- the drawer bottoms are 1/4" hardboard (that brown stuff they make pegboards out of)...
She really IS amazing, Bryan. It might be frustrating to have all flat surfaces turned into art, but I hope you are encouraging her. I expect to see gallery openings in the future!
All I can say is wow....she has more talent in her little toe than I could ever dream of having. Amazing.
(re this post and the previous one) being a smartass and having incredible artistic abilities -- which talent of yours do your kids take after? hmmm... well, i have evidence of your "artistic" rendering of an angry, horned-peep/duck, and i'd say your abilities are best defined as verbal. :-)
sam is incredible. i'm surprised that all of your walls are not covered, literally, as she can use any medium at all -- even her own hand!
Mamacita,
I didn't understand at first, either, what Bryan meant but what he meant is he or David would have just fixed the drawer when it fell out, but Samantha took the opportunity to make it an art project. : )
As everyone else has said, the drawings are absolutely amazing. I can barely draw a stick figure, which actually works out well for actors in the UML world. What's the use (case).
I am not an expert on art or anything but if I was I would say “these drawings are really good”.
