Bryan - I had an HP PDA for several years and I loved it - it never gave me any trouble. Then I 'upgraded' to the Dell Axim a couple of years ago. It has given me nothing but trouble - I sent it back once for a replacement and I am on my 7th version of a profile because it keeps crapping out and needing to be restarted from scratch. Other Dell products I have used have been great but if I were you I would avoid the Axim and stick with HP. The Axim is cheaper, but in this case - you really do get what you pay for.
P.S. Alan and I just upgraded our phones to the Blackberry Pearl but it is too soon to rate it yet as a PDA as we have not had a chance to put all the features to the test. We really like the slim design and easy navigation that it offers though - not having to get out a stylus to poke the screen is nice. There is a rollerball for navigating that is way easier to use than I thought it would be.
well, saw the pda but didn't notice the brand -- what kind is it? (looked cool to me!) have a verizon blackberry from work -- works very well, but someone at the conference showed me theirs (i think a sprint blackberry -- brand new) and it looked like it could kick mine's butt.
oh yes, as we discussed, another medium for you to ignore my missives! :-)
thx everybody. i ended up getting a PC-based one that verizon sells -- has the features i want at a decent price. so far, i like it.
here's an unrelated question: has anyone had problems getting Outlook to send mail thru Yahoo? The POP3 part works fine -- Outlook reads my Yahoo mail fine -- but sending SMTP is another story. Actually, I'm having the same problem with Outlook connecting to my other email also -- the POP3 works fine, the SMTP doesn't work. Any advice welcome.

I have to admit I like unca’s site better.
The product recommendations on his site have more of a personal touch.

Good luck in your search.
