Hate = Fear?

i don't understand the hate=fear thing. i've also heard that hurt feelings are just anger. and that anger=fear.
i think anger and hate often stem from fear, and that people often don't recognize that fact (that their emotion stems from fear). but hate is not the *same* as fear -- we made two different words for the things to distinguish between two emotions that are not the same.
