Disneyland! Kind of.
You might be tempted to take your girlfriend's 5-yr-old daughter to The Kiddie Park, San Antonio's oldest amusement park.
When you get there, you might find it really looks more like this:
And it might be closed for a private party anyway. Happily, that's not the only thing to do in San Antonio. There was a playground across the street, which seemed to bring just as much happiness as the park would have.
It reminded me of when Hannah and I took our kids to Disneyland. As we left, after three days of non-stop Disneyfication, we asked them what their favorite part had been. They said it was the glass elevator in the hotel...

I'm surprised it wasn't swimming in the pool. The piece of advice I'm confident in giving to novice parents is that no matter where you take your kids, the one thing they want to do is swim in the hotel pool. It doesn't matter if they have shown a complete lack of interest in swimming up to this time; it doesn't matter if Mickey Mouse himself shows up at their doorstep. They want to swim in the pool. Really, the best vacation for a kid is to take them to a nearby hotel for a couple of days and have them swim in the pool.
I might be tempted to take my girlfriend's kid there, but I don't think my wife would approve. ;)
um, that's a scary, scary place.
these pics are so sad! i know -- you can take camila's little girl to the river walk, where they have nothing but bars and the dirty-looking, brown river in the middle w/nothing to stop a person (inebriated or not) from falling in... if i recall, you had to be my barrier at one point (or was that new orleans? -- i might be getting my trips mixed up!)
(my fried brain is not capable of commenting on your previous posts now -- 10 hrs w/consultant will do that to me [and the tiring consultant wasn't even you!]) :)
This looks like the perfect place to take a kid. If you hate the kid.
hey, i remember that park, it was the first time i was ever kidnapped. the second time i was kidnapped was also there. good memories.
This looks like an amusement park from H-E Double Corny Dog.
Glad to hear you had fun anyway. That’s what counts.
